My brother pointed this pic out to me back at Christmas, and whenever I look at it, half of me wants to be on the boat/jet ski/flotation device where the photographer was that took the pic, and the other half wants to curl up in a blanket and eat a bunch of cookies for emotional support. Anywho...









The surfer is Kerby Brown, and yeah he suffered an almost fatal wipeout at the end of the ride, but it was all worth it, he won the Oakley-Surfing Life Big Wave award for 2008 and probably won just enough money to cover his insurance premiums to repair his torn up shoulder muscles from the ride.

As for the location: a secret reef southwest of western Australia. So all you boogie boarders and snorkelers out there, here's your new favorite spot.
